Consulate General (Toronto, Canada) has taken initiative to explore Canadian market for skilled workforce of the country. For the purpose, delegation from Seneca College Toronto comprising of Arslan Mehmood, Director International Student Services and Prashant Srivastava Project Manager, International Partnerships & Projects from Seneca College visited TEVTA Secretariat here on 06th February 2019.

Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, COO TEVTA along with other TEVTA officers welcomed the delegation from Seneca College. Akhtar Abbas, COO TEVTA briefed the delegation that TEVTA Punjab, being largest TVET Service Provider of the country, has taken several initiatives for enhancing its quality standards and engaging private sector for promotion of TVET in Pakistan.

He further added that TEVTA envisages this tour a step forward towards strengthening ties between both the countries for nurturing mutual objectives in terms of aligning existing skills training programs with international standards. Delegation from Seneca College briefed TEVTA Punjab regarding Canadian education system, ongoing training programs in Seneca and showed its willingness to work with TEVTA for betterment of TVET sector in the province.

TEVTA and Seneca College discussed in detailed the proposed engagements which might include but not limited to curricula development, joint diploma program and distant learning certificate program, Training of Trainers, mode of assistance for upgrading selected TEVTA institutes. TEVTA and Seneca College agreed to share plan of engagements with each other in near future.
